A Costco Confession

So! Be honest… in looking at this photo, does your heart skip a beat? Does this place put a smile on your face? I have a confession to make… When I’m not shooting, my perfect Saturday or Sunday afternoon is in comfy clothes with my family and strolling the aisles of Costco. Anyone else yelling, “Amen, Sista!”. I know it might sound strange but for almost 7 years now, my hubby and I love going together! Now we have a Bob Stroller in tow with Michael tagging along. I remember Michael’s first time to Costco, LOL. He was wide-eyed in his stroller as we shopped around. We try to limit our trips to once a month (because it’s like Target, we can’t leave Costco without spending several hundred dollars). You could literally walk into Costco because you initially needed the jumbo box of k-cups and a book of stamps… and end up walking out of there with a canoe! HA! We purposively have a monthly budget for Costco to ensure we don’t overspend and go crazy in there. It’s probably a good thing that we can’t log online like Amazon (PS… How did I just recently find out about Honey?! Where have you been all of my life?!) to view all of our previous transactions. Bet it would be a pretty long list.

Between the huge red shopping carts, their gigantic pies, the wine selection, ready-made meals, awesome prices, the yummy food samples, amazing customer service, the ability to return things without a receipt (cash back!), stylish clothes, or the delicious Chicken Bake…!… what’s not to love? If you’re thinking to yourself, “Allison, what’s a Chicken Bake?”, then you need to stop what you’re doing and drive to Costco and order this for lunch in their food court (for only $2.99!). It’s seriously like a hot pocket on steroids, good!

I was organizing my closet the other day and just starting laughing. Am I the only one out there with half of a closet full of clothes from Costco?! Pajamas, leggings, socks, sweaters, pullovers, jackets, snow boots, rain boots,… ok I’ll stop! Our neighborhood crew calls it Costco Casual and we’re not ashamed to rock it out at our many gatherings! We text each other on the regular and get pumped when new stuff arrives, LOL. If you were to stroll through my house, you’d see the hallway sensor night lights, solar driveway lights, Sonicare toothbrushes, white lights in our backyard, our wagon, our coolers, our beach chairs/cart, our deep freezer, big comfy blankets, our pillows, our wine, our driveway storage…(I’ll just stop here)… it’s all from Costco. Loyal customers, for life! A “wholesale superfan.” Executive Membership, woop!

If you haven’t read it, you should check out “11 Things You Didn’t Know About Costco“. A good read! You’ll also want to learn about the secret codes in Costco that will make you a smarter shopper!

It’s on my bucket list to do a lifestyle shoot in Costco. How hilariously cute would that be?? Those images would get featured on the Today show for sure! It could be a recently married couple, a family of 5, a single mom, a couple married for the last 50 years… either way, it would be adorable and so much fun getting creative and capturing a day-in-the-life-of a Costco shopper. Who else is IN?! With Costco’s permission, of course. Although I’d look pretty funny roaming the halls with a big camera looking like paparazzi.

No, this is not a sponsored blog post for Costco, LOL. There is no real point to this blog post other than just some random thoughts and my confessed love for Costco. Anyone else nodding your head? Hope this nonsense put a smile on your face! If you’re a fellow Costco lover then comment below! What was your latest Costco purchase that you’re obsessed with?! If you’re in RVA, maybe I’ll see you around 😉
