Ryan and I had a fabulous weekend!! We got up bright and early this past Saturday to head to Blacksburg for some HOKIE football! We were super excited because we haven’t been back for a game since VT played UVA in 2011! We met up with Cathy and Matt and they gave us the full experience! We had quite the tailgate spread (in lot #1!). We pulled into our spot at 10AM on the dot — plenty of time to tailgate with the game starting at 1:30PM. Cathy and I setup the food in minutes and the mimosas started flowing. We had some delicious food and I brought along the Bose for some great tunes. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky — perfect weather for a perfect day 🙂
When 12:45 rolled around we packed up the car and headed to the stadium! We had to make sure we got to our seats in time for ENTER SANDMAN! Cathy and Matt lead the way to our seats… drum roll please… 50 yard line, roughly 20 rows up, PERFECT SEATS!!! We had a blast cheering on our HOKIES. It was a GREAT game!
The day wasn’t over yet! We headed off to Smith Mountain Lake to meet up with Cathy’s parents and her son Tanner. Their house is right at a point on the water… GORGEOUS views!! We got there in time to enjoy some cocktails in the sunshine on their beautiful (and relaxing!) dock. The delicious steak dinner, the lawn games, the beautiful sunset… it was a wonderful night filled with lots of laughter! Thanks again to the McAden’s for your hospitality — we had a BLAST!!!
Here are some favorites from our weekend get-away!! Enjoy! 🙂
