Happy Monday friends! This past weekend, Richmond had our first SNOW of the New Year! I was expecting 1-2″ and we got lots more than that! Little Michael must love snow as much as I do because he woke up at 6AM this past Saturday morning ready to start the day. I looked outside and everything was covered in a white blanket. Our family spent the early morning being lazy in our PJs, drinking coffee by the fire, and Ryan made us pancakes!
Each time it snows I always like to take a photo of our house first thing in the morning before any tracks get into the snow. There is something so peaceful of seeing your home in the snow. But this year, when I captured the image of our home in the snow my heart swelled with so much happiness. Knowing that my sweet baby boy was inside… our family is growing… so many more memories to come playing in our yard in the snow as our Michael starts to walk, run, play!
Before heading outside that afternoon to spend the day (and night!) with our amazing neighbors… I just had to have a quick family photo shoot in our backyard! Ryan was a good sport in the freezing cold as we captured this incredible season in our lives with our almost 3 month old!!! I just love these images so much!! Michael was a bit sleepy during the photo session since it was just before nap time but he’s still so precious! The snowflakes were falling on Michael’s face and he was sticking his tongue out, LOL! We were bundled up in our winter gear with the snow falling and the winter white trees in the background were breathtaking. I just might have to do a spontaneous family mini-session special in my backyard the next time it snows — stay tuned! 🙂
